Hurst set to make Cumbrians debut

Thirlwell will not feature as he continues to struggle with a dead leg and defender Peter Murphy also misses out once again due to a groin injury. But Hurst is expected to make his debut in the League One clash at Edgeley Park. Hurst joined the Cumbrians from Scunthorpe on Monday for a fee that could rise to £145,000. Young defender Simon Lakeland is a long-term absentee due to a partial tear in his medial ligament, while Jamie Cleary is sidelined with the same injury but is making good progress. If Hurst is handed a start, he is likely to be the only change to the side that secured a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Millwall on Saturday.
