Graham: I always tried my best

The 23-year-old had been a popular figure at Brunton Park but fell out of favour with the club's fans after failing to score in his final 18 games for the club. Sections of the support accused Graham of losing interest after the Cumbrians turned down a £250,000 bid from Huddersfield for him in January, but he has moved to reject those claims. "I wasn't going into games thinking 'I want to be at Huddersfield' or anywhere else. It would be wrong to say that," Graham told the News and Star. "For whatever reason, I couldn't stop scoring from August to January, and after that it didn't seem to work out for me. The fans pay their money to come and see the team do well, and I was struggling. I'm sorry for that. "But what I will say is that I tried my hardest in my two-and-a-half years at Carlisle. To get 40 goals in just over 100 starts proves that. But there will always be negatives."
