The former Newcastle man spent time on loan with Doncaster and Oldham before joining non-league Workington in 2004. Boss Greg Abbott told the club's official website: "It's a real opportunity for Adam to show that he can be a professional League One keeper. He's done really well at Workington and he's a young player that we have wanted to bring in for a while. "He now has the opportunity to put a bit of pressure on Ben Williams, who had an excellent second-half of the season, so that's a position that we now feel is a really strong one for us. "Adam has been with us since January and he has done very, very well. What we will see now is two good goalkeepers competing for the number one spot and I'm sure that they will push each other all the way. "This is a tough level to play at for anybody and I think that's even more the case for the goalkeeper but we think that he has the mental toughness that is needed to take that on. He has excellent physical attributes so we're looking forward to working with him."
