The 25-year-old, recently released by Millwall, has joined the Cumbrians as a replacement for Colchester-bound Ben Williams. Pidgeley has penned a one-year deal and will become Carlisle's first-choice keeper, although he will face competition from Adam Collin. Abbott told the club's official website: "He comes with very good recommendations in terms of his goalkeeping. He's another who just wants to come in and play. "He has made it clear he wants to prove to people he's a top keeper and I'm happy to give him that opportunity. He's worked with a lot of good people and he wants to kick start his career again."
