Carlisle goalkeeper Mark Gillespie has extended his loan spell at Blyth Spartans by a further two months. Since joining the Spartans, the 18 year-old has had a very successful month helping them to three clean sheets in his four appearances for the club. Cumbrians boss Greg Abbott is delighted the young shot-stopper has had an immediate impact at Croft Park. "Mark has done really well and he is enjoying being involved in first team games," he told the club's official website. "We think it is of benefit to him and to Blyth to allow him to stay as he is involved in regular competitive football. We sent him over there with the hope that the experience would improve his game and we think that's the case. "We're happy for him to stay and hopefully he will gain more confidence from it as the spell goes on."
