Frank fits the bill for Greg

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott believes new signing Frank Simek is the ideal replacement for departed defender Richard Keogh. Keogh has sealed a move to Coventry and Abbott wasted little time drafting in American full-back Simek, who has signed a two-year deal at Brunton Park following his release from Sheffield Wednesday. Abbott said: "Once it became clear that Richard Keogh was looking elsewhere we identified Frank as a top target and we started the work to bring him in here. "The encouraging thing for me is that Frank just wants to play. He hasn't spoken about the financial side of things, or anything like that, and all of the talk with him has been about him coming here, doing things properly and helping Carlisle United to improve. "We think we've got a player who can defend well and who can get forward when it's needed. We're really looking forward to working with him and hopefully he will reproduce the quality that we know he has."
