Burnley defender Kevin Long has linked up with MK Dons with a view to signing a possible loan deal with the npower League One side.
The 19-year-old joined the Clarets from Cork City in January on a three-and-a-half year deal, but has struggled to break into the first team.
Carlisle have also expressed an interest in the central defender and Long could also appear for the Cumbrians before opting for a loan move.
Burnley manager Brian Laws told his club's official website: "This is an ideal opportunity to get Kevin some first team experience and MK Dons are going to have a good look at him.
"Carlisle will also be having a look and hopefully we can get Kevin sorted out with a loan deal that will benefit everyone."
