Cumbrians to open Bridges talks

The 31-year-old forward made 34 appearances during a season-long loan at Brunton Park last season, his second spell with the club. Bridges appears to have little future with parent side Hull and, despite having previously acknowledged that other clubs may also be courting the former Leeds man, Abbott is hopeful of persuading him to return to Carlisle when they meet in the coming days. "Michael is a good player and good players are always on the radar," he told his club's official website. "He showed us towards the end of the season that a fit Michael Bridges can make a real impact. I'll speak to him next week and see what his plans are and we will see if there is anything that we can do. "Obviously we haven't spoken yet so we will have to wait and see what he has to say before we say anything else."
