McGlen will sign a two-year YTS contract next summer, joining striker Mark Beck as part of the new intake.[LNB]Head of youth development Eric Kidner believes the club have a promising young centre-half in McGlen and is relishing him joining the Cumbrians.[LNB]"He's been over to us a couple of times since the early autumn and he has played for our Under-16 side so that we could see him in action," he told Carlisle's official website. "He looks a very composed young man and he has done really well with us.[LNB]"We had a trial game on Saturday and he started to look like a really good player. He hasn't been with any club up to now so I think it's the right time to make a move on him.[LNB]"He's had a trial with Stoke, so people are looking at him, but we're pleased that we have finalised it all with him."[LNB][LNB]
