Carlisle have completed the permanent signing of striker Paddy Madden from Bohemians for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance. The 20-year-old, who has played for the Republic of Ireland at Under-19s, Under-21 and Under-23 level, has signed a two-and-a-half year contract. He will not be available for Tuesday night's clash with Huddersfield. Cumbrians manager Greg Abbott said: "Patrick has an excellent reputation and comes to us highly recommended. "We've had him watched and he's a striker who likes to be involved and who can also use the ball. "We think he'll fit in with the way we want to play and has the type of attitude that will make him an asset to the squad. We're really looking forward to working with him." Meanwhile, defender Tony Kane, 23, has had his contract terminated by mutual consent. He joined Carlisle in the summer of 2009 after an initial loan spell, but has struggled to hold down a place in Abbott's starting line-up.
