Carlisle will be given a civic reception by the city council following their Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory at Wembley earlier this month. Greg Abbott's side, who beat Brentford 1-0 after losing 4-1 to Southampton in last season's final, will appear on the first floor balcony at the Civic Centre on Thursday evening. Carlisle's managing director John Nixon said: "We're delighted that Carlisle City Council have chosen to mark the club's achievement of winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy by inviting us down to the Civic Centre this week. "With two back-to-back away games at MK Dons and Leyton Orient following the final at Wembley, this is the first chance we've had to organise a reception, but we're pleased that it's now been sorted. "The football club is an important part of the local community and it's always nice to receive recognition for helping put the city on the map. It's also a great chance for us to say thank you to the fans for their excellent support this season."
