Cumbrians complete Offiong signing

Offiong, 25, has signed a two-year deal with the League One side. The former Newcastle trainee turned down moves to Colchester and Greek side Skoda Xanthi earlier this summer but his departure was expected after he was absent from Hamilton's 3-0 defeat by Aberdeen on Saturday. Offiong said: "I'm really glad that it's all over and done with now and I'm ready to kick on. "It's a club that I know a bit about because my family are based not too far away from here. "I first heard that there was a bit of interest in me last week and then obviously I was told that Hamilton had accepted a bid. "My first thought was that it was a fresh new challenge for myself and I jumped at the chance. There were other clubs interested but this club felt right for me." Accies have already lost key players James McCarthy and Brian Easton this summer while captain Alex Neil and full-back James Gibson are long-term injury absentees.
