Cumbrians boss in plea to fans

The Cumbrians' biggest home crowd of the season saw the team book their place in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final with a penalty shoot-out victory over Leeds on Tuesday night.[LNB]Over 9,000 fans packed into Brunton Park in midweek and Abbott believes the team needs the extra boost of a bumper crowd on a regular basis.[LNB]"Tuesday night is what we are aiming for - 9-10,000 on a regular basis," Abbott told the News & Star.[LNB]"I don't think that is beyond the people here. They need to see improvement and maybe a few will come back on Saturday and we can keep them with us.[LNB]"That is what we need to make us better - those people coming back through the turnstiles."[LNB][LNB]
