Charlton 1-3 Carlisle: Report

01 March 2011 22:04
Charlton suffered their fourth straight defeat as Carlisle came from a goal down to run out 3-1 winners at The Valley.

Bradley Wright-Phillips put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute after good play from Nathan Eccleston but United equalised in the 27th minute when Ben Marshall's drive took a deflection on its way past Addicks keeper Rob Elliot.

Carlisle capitalised on loose passing and a frustrated home crowd to take the lead in the 62nd minute through Craig Curran when the home side were unable to clear a corner.

And the result was put beyond doubt by Rory Loy after Elliot had spilled Marshall`s shot with ten minutes remaining.

The result leaves new boss Powell level in his first reign as a manager, with four wins and four defeats, with the latter coming in consecutive fashion.
