Curle to monitor options

Carlisle boss Keith Curle could make one or two changes for his side's home game against Stevenage.

Curle recalled Dave Symington and Sean O'Hanlon to the starting line-up for the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy penalty shoot-out defeat at Tranmere and must decide whether to retain them.

O'Hanlon overcame a toe injury to play the full 90 minutes, while winger David Amoo (hamstring) and midfielder Antony Sweeney (shoulder) remain doubtful.

Dan Hanford will retain his place in goal with goalkeeping coach Tony Caig, 40, on the bench again as first-choice Mark Gillespie recovers from a groin problem. Defenders Matty Robson and Courtney Meppen-Walter (both knee) are still out.

Graham Westley admits there are "no imminent returns" from his long list of injury victims as Stevenage prepare to visit a rejuvenated Carlisle.

Calvin Zola is back to square one with an ankle problem, with fellow forwards Adam Marriott and Cameron Lancaster also sidelined alongside the likes of midfielder Simon Walton and defender Harry Worley.

"There's a lot of experience on the sidelines and a lot of numbers on the sidelines," Westley told Boro Player. "All the lads have been re-scanned and re-examined but most will still be out for another eight to 10 weeks. There's no imminent returns.

"You can't look at the knocks and see a trend there; it's not like we've over-trained them or under-trained them - most are just freak injuries."
