Noble worry for Cumbrians

Carlisle midfielder Liam Noble is an injury doubt for the home game against Stevenage.

Noble turned his ankle during the midweek defeat at Sheffield United and will be assessed, but Paul Thirlwell (calf), Matty Robson (back) and Sean O'Hanlon (knee) are still major doubts.

Fellow midfielder James Berrett (thigh) and on-loan Manchester United striker Sam Byrne (hamstring) shook off their respective injuries to start on Tuesday night.

Goalkeeper Mark Gillespie (knee) is edging closer to a return, but Jordan Pickford will resume, while fellow loanees, Leicester's James Pearson, son of Foxes boss Nigel, and Watford's Reece Brown, brother of Sunderland defender Wes, are expected to start again after making their debuts in midweek.

Stevenage can welcome back John Mousinho.

Mousinho missed Tuesday night's 1-1 draw against Preston as he is on loan from the Lilywhites, so he could go straight back into the starting line-up at Brunton Park

Fellow midfielder Michael Doughty returned from a hamstring injury on the bench in midweek and should be involved again but winger Filipe Morais could miss out with a thigh problem.

Boro are unbeaten in their last five matches and are outside the relegation zone on goal difference, while lying a point behind Carlisle in 19th.
