Trio remain big doubt for Abbott

Carlisle could be without Paul Thirlwell, Danny Livesey and Matty Robson again for the home clash with Leyton Orient.

All three players missed last week's defeat at Brentford. Midfielder Thirlwell has missed the last three games due to an ankle injury, defender Livesey saw a specialist in midweek about the hand injury that has kept him sidelined for two matches, and winger Robson is hoping recent injections in his back will have resolved his problem.

Manager Greg Abbott, who has no new injury or suspension worries, must decide whether to hand a debut to on-loan Manchester United defender Sean McGinty, who has been an unused substitute in the last two matches.

Chris Chantler (heel) will continue to play through the pain barrier and fellow midfielder Brad Potts is likely to resume alongside him after appearing for England Under-19s against Northern Ireland in midweek.

The Cumbrians, 15th in the table, are chasing their first league win in four matches.

Kevin Lisbie should return to the Leyton Orient starting line-up.

The striker, fit again after a recent hamstring injury, was rested to the bench for Wednesday night's FA Cup win over Gloucester City, although he came on during the second half.

Lisbie is likely to partner David Mooney in attack after the former Reading and Charlton frontman scored his first goal of the season against the non-leaguers.

Defender Ben Chorley and midfielders Martin Rowlands and Lee Cook are also expected to return to the starting XI after manager Russell Slade shuffled his pack for the cup game.

Slade has a virtually full-strength squad with back-up goalkeeper Lee Butcher the only long-term absentee with a knee injury.
