Doncaster striker Gareth Taylor has joined Carlisle on a month's loan. The 36-year-old has played 18 games for the Championship side this season, but has been restricted to substitute appearances of late. "We have been getting the ball in the box a lot, and he will bring a physical presence in that area," Carlisle boss Greg Abbott told the club website. "He's terrific in the air, experienced, and I'm sure we will see him getting on the end of stuff for us," he added. Taylor joined Rovers in March 2008 from Tranmere. He has made more than 500 appearances in his career at clubs including Southampton, Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Manchester City and Burnley. "He's had games in the Championship this season and he is coming here with a real appetite to play," said Abbott. "The important thing is that he is the type of player that we think we need, and we're looking forward to working with him."
