The 21-year-old joined the League One outfit on-loan from Blackburn at the beginning of February, making nine appearances for the Cumbrians. "We had talks with Tony and there is a verbal agreement in place that he will sign his contract," Abbott told the club's official website. "We expect him to do that once he is back from his holiday. "We think he is a good young player who has already shown us he is prepared to work hard and learn." Meanwhile, Abbott is confident David Raven will sign the new two-year contract on offer, telling The Cumberland News: "I have had a very positive conversation with David. He is going on holiday now but he has promised to weigh it up and come back with a concrete answer in about 10 days. "I tried to push him as far as I can to get him to give me an indication. From the way he spoke I think it is going to be a good one for us and I am very hopeful."
