Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott paid tribute to the impact of defender Ian Harte in the club's early rise to the top of League One.Harte, 32, has scored twice in four games from centre-back this season, but Abbott recognises his defensive worth. [LNB]"People talk about his goals but I'd rather talk about the defensive side," Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria. [LNB]"He deserves his new contract, and he's been terrific, I like good people on my side and he's a good person." [LNB]Harte, last season's top scorer with 18 in all competitions, was again impressive in Saturday's 4-1 defeat of MK Dons, which sent the Cumbrians to the top of the table. [LNB]Two wins in the first three games have propelled Abbott's outfit up the division and the Yorkshireman revealed his satisfaction at the manner in which his players have started. [LNB][LNB] [LNB][LNB] "Players go out there and work as hard as they can," Abbott continued. [LNB]"We've got players who can hurt the opposition and the work ethic and the positivity around the club is excellent. [LNB]"We've got a nice platform to be solid at the back and allow the attacking players to get forward."
