Boss keen to build around Bridges

Bridges, 30, spent last season on loan at Brunton Park, scoring eight goals in 22 appearances for the Cumbrians and manager Greg Abbott wants the former Leeds forward back in his side. Abbott said: "Michael is away on holiday at the moment, but we did speak before he left so that I could get some kind of idea about how he was thinking. "What he wanted to do was take a bit of a break to allow his agent to gather all of the offers that he may have to consider together, and then he could move things on from there. "He told me that he would speak to me as soon as he gets back," he added. "It stands to reason that he will want to look at all of the interest that there is, and he'll make a decision from there. "As a player, he is one that can make a real impact, as we have already seen. When he is on his game he is very creative and, when he's playing well, he shines like a beacon. He has genuine ability and what we have to do is make sure that, if he does come to the club, he is at the forefront of what we are trying to do."
