Carlisle manager Greg Abbott has rallied fans ahead of his side's big test in Saturday's top-of-the-table clash at Sheffield Wednesday. Abbott revealed around 2,000 Blues supporters were expected to make the trip to Hillsborough, with the Cumbrians aiming to go top of the table. Abbott said: "We know that our fans will always follow us through thick and thin and we're really pleased that they will be turning out in such big numbers again this weekend. "We've had a couple of long journeys so far this season so it's good for the fans that we now have a relatively short journey to South Yorkshire. "Whether it's a few hundred at Colchester or over 2,000 at Sheffield Wednesday, the support they give is always magnificent and it really does make a big difference to the players. "We've had a good start to the season and hopefully we can keep that going this weekend at Hillsborough."
