Borrowdale to sit out

Carlisle will be without suspended defender Gary Borrowdale for their midweek clash at Oldham. Borrowdale, on loan from QPR, was sent off for two yellow card offences on his first full appearance in Saturday's defeat at Southampton and due to a dearth of replacements winger Matt Robson could be asked to fill in at full-back. Midfielder Paul Thirlwell (calf) remains another two weeks away from a return to first-team action and defender Sean McDaid is a long-term absentee due to knee ligament damage. Manager Greg Abbott has no other new injury or suspension problems, but Liam Cooper, who will return to the club on loan from Hull when he recovers from a hand injury, and fellow defender Joe Dudgeon (knee), on loan from Manchester United, remain sidelined. Teenage goalkeeper Mark Gillespie is hoping to be included in the squad after signing a contract extension keeping him at the club until the summer of 2012.
