Borrowdale set for bow

Carlisle's latest signing Gary Borrowdale is expected to make his first league appearance for the Cumbrians at Southampton. QPR defender Borrowdale made his debut in the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Huddersfield after arriving for an initial month-long loan spell. Cumbrians manager Greg Abbott has no new injury or suspension problems, but could still be without skipper Paul Thirlwell (calf) and on-loan defenders Joe Dudgeon (knee) and Liam Cooper (hand), who all missed Tuesday night's Northern Area final clash, which saw Abbott's side hold on for a 4-3 aggregate win. Striker Rory Loy, a recent permanent signing from Rangers, was included in the midweek starting line-up and is poised to make his first league start as Carlisle bid to halt a run of three straight defeats.
