Carlisle have completed their fifth summer signing by drafting in Republic of Ireland Under-21 international James Berrett. Midfielder Berrett, 21, released by Huddersfield at the end of the season, has signed a two-year deal with the Cumbrians and follows Sean McDaid, Craig Curran, Frank Simek and Jason Price, who signed a permanent deal after a loan spell last season. Cumbrians boss Greg Abbott said: "He's another that we've known about for a while and we think he has real potential. "We've seen and heard only good things about him and we're looking forward to working with him in the weeks and months ahead." Berrett, who came through Huddersfield's academy and made over 40 appearances for the Terriers, said: "The manager has made it clear that he wants to take this club forward and I'm looking forward to being part of that. "His message has been about working hard and improvement and it's made it an easy decision for me to come here. I'm really looking forward to what's a new challenge for me."
