The 18-year-old is the Cumbrians' youth team captain and signed his first professional deal with the club in December last year. Aldred has featured for Scotland Under-19s this season and insists his next goal is to make his first-team debut at Brunton Park. "I was lost for words when my name was announced for the award and it's a fantastic achievement for myself and also the club," said Aldred. "I'm yet to make my debut and it's one of my goals. I've played for my country now and that was amazing. "One of my other goals this season was also to make an appearance in the first team, take my chance and go on from there. Hopefully this is a stepping stone towards that."
