Abbott wanted more

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott felt his side should have scored more after a 2-0 win over Tranmere that he described as "too comfortable at times". Goals from James Berrett and Peter Murphy either side of half-time secured a first win in four for the Cumbrians, while both Ian Thomas-Moore, for Tranmere, and Carlisle striker Gary Madine failed to convert first-half penalties. Abbott said: "The win was vital, but I know we can play better than that. We should have been out of sight and won by three or four. "I was a bit disappointed with Tranmere because I thought they would have thrown more at us than they did. "It was probably too comfortable at times. We were in control to such an extent we probably needed to keep it simple, and it became slightly dull at times in the second half. "There was some terrific stuff in the first half against a team that had scored eight goals in the last two games. We made enough chances to have made it more convincing really."
