Abbott: Top six hopes are alive

Carlisle boss Greg Abbott insisted his side`s play-off hopes are alive after they beat promotion-chasing Bournemouth 1-0 at Brunton Park. Peter Murphy's first-half strike condemned the promotion-chasing Cherries to their third straight defeat. Murphy netted after 26 minutes with a close-range left-foot finish and Abbott - whose men were hammered 6-0 at Peterborough last weekend - refused to rule out a late surge into the play-off places. He declared: "We're going for the play-offs while there's a chance. "We've got to pick our best team and win as many games as we can. "We can go out with confidence to try and get those next points as quickly as we can. Fifty points was our first target and I'm desperate now to get to 60."
