Abbott still holds play-off hopes

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott believes his side's play-off challenge this season is far from over. The Cumbrians have won three and drawn one of their last five league games and are currently 10th in the table, seven points adrift of the top six. Abbott, buoyed by his side's midweek win at Charlton ahead of Saturday's clash at leaders Brighton, said: "All I can ask is for the same effort and determination. "The quality is going to be up and down, but if the players can go to Brighton and give the same as they did at Charlton we will be a test for them. "With 14 games to go we're 10th in the table and at Wembley. If we can get something at Brighton and then against Hartlepool, we're going to be near where we want to be." Carlisle take on Brentford in their second successive Johnstone's Paint Trophy final on April 3. They lost 4-1 to Southampton at Wembley last season.
