Abbott still confident of survival

The Cumbrians will take on Millwall next Saturday knowing only a win will prevent them from dropping to League Two following a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham.[LNB]But Abbott, who saw Ian Harte put his side ahead before they went down to nine men at Whaddon Road, is confident that his men can claw themselves to safety.[LNB]"We have to keep giving the effort and determination we have shown," he said. "The players have given their all and with the attitude we are looking for.[LNB]"We have been critical of them at times this season but they deserve a pat on the back. People will feel sorry for Cheltenham but we feel sorry for ourselves. We knew they had to throw men forward and we had two unbelievably good breaks. The keeper (Scott Brown) has made a good save and we also hit the post.[LNB]"We can do it, we have shown that. We were 30 seconds away from winning last week and if we had kept 10 men then we would have won this one. The fans believe it, the players believe it - we all believe it."[LNB][LNB]
