Abbott rues defensive lapses

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott admitted the 2-2 draw with Exeter was a good game to watch, but was less impressed with his side's defending. The Cumbrians took an early lead through Craig Curran and after Ryan Harley's brace for the visitors, Ivory Coast striker Francois Zoko hit back for the home side on the stroke of half-time. Abbott said: "It was a good game to watch. If we'd carried on in the first half without the whistle it could have been 5-5, but both teams tidied it up in the second half. "I felt we edged it in the second half and might have nicked the win, but Paul (Tisdale) might think the same. "We scored two good goals, but didn't defend well enough. You can entertain and defend properly, but we allowed them too much time and space. "We've a young and inexperienced team and they're learning and giving us everything they've got. They were rampaging bulls in the second half, but couldn't find the winner I felt we just about deserved."
