Abbott remains philosophical after loss

Carlisle boss Greg Abbott refused to criticise his players after they slipped to an agonising 3-2 defeat at MK Dons. The Johnstone's Paint Trophy winners cancelled out Daniel Powell's opener with goals from Liam Noble and James Berrett's penalty. But Angelo Balanta headed an 81st-minute equaliser and Adam Clayton converted from close range in time added on to give the Dons all three points. Yet Abbott said: "It's one of those things that happen in football - we've won games like that before and now we've lost in this type of situation. "To be fair to the boys, the effort and way they've competed after last week after people were saying we'd just see the season out was excellent. "You ask the MK Dons if we've just come here to lie down and let our season run out. They've had to go right to the wire until the 93rd minute to score a goal to win the game."
