Abbott keen to splash cash

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott is determined to use the cash from the sale of Gary Madine to bolster his squad. Three successive wins have rekindled Carlisle's hopes of promotion but Abbott fears his current squad may not be strong enough to cope with a packed fixture list. Speaking to the News & Star, Abbott said: "We need more strength in depth as we face some unbelievable midweek journeys. "We will inevitably pick up injuries and we want to replace those players with quality. "It is really important that we find the right type of player and the right type of person, and that is never easy. "There is quite a bit of interest in our players but nobody is moving until we get replacements."
