Abbott in plea to fans

Manager Greg Abbott has called on Carlisle fans to turn out in force once again when MK Dons visit Brunton Park on Saturday. The Cumbrians' biggest home crowd of the season saw the team book their place in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final with a penalty shoot-out victory over Leeds on Tuesday night. Over 9,000 fans packed into Brunton Park in midweek and Abbott believes the team needs the extra boost of a bumper crowd on a regular basis. "Tuesday night is what we are aiming for - 9-10,000 on a regular basis," Abbott told the News & Star. "I don't think that is beyond the people here. They need to see improvement and maybe a few will come back on Saturday and we can keep them with us. "That is what we need to make us better - those people coming back through the turnstiles."
