Abbott happy with Carlisle response

Carlisle boss Greg Abbott brushed aside the disappointment of conceding a late equaliser to Plymouth by singing the praises of both his players and the club`s supporters in attendance at Brunton Park Yannick Bolasie`s 84th-minute header cancelled out James Berrett's first-half strike to ensure the clash finished 1-1, a result which came after the Cumbrians` heaviest defeat for nine years on Saturday as they went down 6-0 at Peterborough. "That was one of our best performances because we were very down after Saturday," Abbott said. "To come out and perform like that in front of a low crowd with a low atmosphere was tremendous. "There is a lot of pressure on us and we were not fluent but we showed depth of character and we owe a massive thank you to the 3,000 fans who turned out. "(Goalkeeper) Adam Collin didn't have a thing to do in the second half but pick the ball out of the net for their goal. "Confidence will return with more belief but I am delighted the players rolled their sleeves up and showed heart and determination."
