Carlisle had been on course for a shock first win in seven when journeyman Michael Bridges gave them a first-half lead, but Foxes skipper Matt Oakley slotted home an equaliser. The hosts looked to have snatched the three points necessary to keep them four points clear thanks to Matt Fryatt's 24th goal of the season, but United substitute Dobie struck two minutes into injury-time to share the spoils. Abbott said: "Our players made a fantastic effort, they played with passion and heart but we mustn't get carried away because we have to produce that form over the next five games to ensure we stay in this division. "Leicester may be top of the league but we thought we were as good as them. I'm very satisfied because this was a result that not a lot of people expected us to get."
