Abbott: Clean sheets are vital

Millwall were on top throughout but former Lion Lenny Pidgeley, who was continually barracked by the home crowd, was largely untroubled in the Cumbrians' goal. Steve Morison and substitute David Martin hit the woodwork for the home side in the second half but defeat would have been harsh on Abbott's solid and disciplined side. He said: "We've worked exceptionally hard on the defensive side of our game to make sure we get the clean sheets that gives us chances to get points on the board. "I thought defensively as a team we were excellent, little Tom Taiwo in midfield epitomises everything we are about, closing people down and he made endless runs to support people. "If we get these clean sheets we'll start turning them into 1-0 victories and 2-0 victories and we can get some big points on the table and have a better season."
