Morris, who spent a month with the Cumbrians last term, went on to play a big part in getting Scunthorpe into the Championship. Abbott told Carlisle's official website: "We don't know what his personal situation is right now so, out of respect for Nigel Adkins and for the player, we will have to wait and see what they do next." Whether he would want to return to Carlisle remains to be seen, and Abbott added: "He has done really well since he returned to Scunthorpe and he is probably in a state of euphoria at the moment because he has played such a big part in getting his club promoted." Bridges has scored 22 goals in two spells at Brunton Park and manager Abbott has made no secret of his desire to bring the former Leeds striker back permanently. Abbott said: "He is contracted to Hull City until the end of June and we have to wait for them to confirm their released list before we can even approach him, so it's another case of wait and see."
