Tate misses out on award

Peter Whittingham completed a Cardiff City Championship awards double in October as the winger has been named the division's player of the month.The 25-year-old scored seven goals in his four games in October as he emulated Bluebirds boss Dave Jones to win the division's top individual gong. He beat Leicester's Chris Weale, QPR's Adel Taarabt and Swansea's Alan Tate. Norwich's Grant Holt won the League One award while Notts County keeper Kasper Schmeichel won the League Two trophy.
