Ex-England international and Cardiff City midfielder Trevor Sinclair has spoken of the racist abuse which has followed him around for much of his 17-year playing career.
Thirty-four-year-old Sinclair told the Western Mail: "From an early age I've had racist abuse through schools football, Sunday league football, all the way through, and it does just stun you at first."
Sinclair, who joined the Bluebirds in July after being released by Manchester City, revealed that the most disturbing experiences in his career took place in lower league football.
He added: "When I was playing for Blackpool it was horrendous, with bananas being thrown on the pitch and that.
"That really happened a few times and it does make you angry."
The ex-West ham and QPR wideman is now back in training after knee surgery and is hoping to help his side to climb the Championship table.
