Ridsdale pledges striker cash
17 Jul 2007 - 13:42:59
Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has revealed money is available for manager Dave Jones to find a replacement for Michael Chopra.
The Bluebirds sold last season's 22-goal leading scorer to Sunderland in a £5million deal earlier in the month.
But while Jones is not on the verge of unveiling a replacement just yet, there will be money available to bring in another striker, according to Ridsdale.
Cardiff have been linked with an ambitious move for free agent former Liverpool and England striker Robbie Fowler in recent days.
"Having sold Michael Chopra we're in the market for a new striker," Ridsdale told the Western Mail.
"Dave Jones has identified his targets and we're working to bring them in.
"We're not expecting anyone in Cardiff for talks or medicals or anything like that today, but we're sure that situation will change rapidly."
