Ridsdale hopes for funding boost

The Bluebirds chairman has recently returned from a trip to Malaysia where he met once again with property magnate Dato Chan Tien Ghee, and speaking at a fans forum on Monday night he revealed all about external interest in the club, including a proposition from America. "There was an indicative offer to the club from two individuals who work for a bank in the USA," he said. "They talked about a deal to take the club over. In my opinion the figures they talked about were unacceptable, but we are still talking. I don't think it is right for the club at the moment. "These things are always sensitive but I believe the conversations we are having will end up in investment in the football club - minority investment. Not a takeover. It would, though, be new cash coming in. "Hopefully, talks in Malaysia will be a stepping stone for the Far East. We have contacts in China and in Hong Kong and Japan. A lot of people in the Far East love British football and watch football in the English leagues from noon to night. "If this leads to new investment to help us pay off the debt and buy new players to get us into the Premier League and help us stay there then it's worth the airfare. I do expect a positive announcement within weeks."
