Ridsdale calls for unity at Cardiff

Dave Jones' men followed up a 1-0 home defeat to Plymouth Argyle on Boxing Day with a second-half capitulation against Peterborough two days later - resulting in a one point return from the two games. But Ridsdale remains confident Cardiff - who lie fourth in the table - will achieve their target of finishing in the top six and reaching the play-offs. "I understand only too well the emotional disappointment of poor results and the second half capitulation at Peterborough this week is an experience that I never want to go through again," he said. "The best response from everyone at this club, players and supporters alike, is to stick together and remain clear as to our objectives for the season as a whole." Ridsdale also emphasised his support for Jones, adding: "Dave Jones has been a fundamental part of the progress that we have made. He has been our manager for the last four and a half years and remains so. He understands our aspirations and with his management team and players he is committed to deliver."
