Rae keeping options open

Gavin Rae stressed his determination to fight for his Cardiff shirt after netting his first goal in over 12 months to help clinch a 2-0 win over Hull at the weekend. The midfielder, who arrived at the club from Rangers in 2007, started the opening two games of the season but quickly lost his place following an influx of new faces after Cardiff`s transfer embargo was lifted. But after coming off the bench on Saturday and playing his part in what was his first game in a month, Rae signalled his strong desire to force his way into Dave Jones` plans."I started the first game of the season but then we strengthened with a lot of players and it looked like I might have to move on at one point," he told the club`s official website. "But that never materialised and I`m still here fighting for my place."I don`t want to leave but if my games are limited then I might have to. I`m settled here with my family and I really don`t want to leave but it might still come to that, you never know."It`s difficult going on loan because we`ve got two young kids and I don`t want to uproot my family to the end of the season without knowing what`s going to happen next season."
