Purse content to stay put

Cardiff City centre-back Darren Purse has played down reports linking him with a possible summer move to the Premiership.

Relegation candidates Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United have both been linked with the 30-year-old stopper, but he is happy to stay put with the Bluebirds.

He told the South Wales Echo: "As far as I'm concerned, I have another year on my contract and I'll be playing for Cardiff next season.

"I've been here two seasons now and love the place. I love the club and its supporters and I fully intend to stay here, because I've enjoyed the whole experience.

"I want to stay and be part of a club that wants to go places. It didn't happen for us this season, but we will all learn from our experiences and go again."
