Former Portsmouth and Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard has been handed the chance to earn a permanent contract with Cardiff City.
The 26-year-old was a substitute in the Bluebirds' friendly defeat against Valencia on Saturday and impressed boss Dave Jones.
"Vincent's done a pre-season at Stoke, but then he didn't play the games," said Jones.
"They released him, but Tony Pulis rang us up to say to take a look and we'll do that. He's been out a long time with a ruptured Achilles and there's no harm in looking at someone on a free.
"We're helping him and he might help us if we decide he's right for us. If he wins a penalty every week I'll sign him!"
