No change to club crest
Published : 05 Mar 2013 01:53:14
City have announced there will be no changes to the club crest "for the foreseeable future"
After the unrest over the past couple of weeks cause by red scarves and talk of a possible name change, the club have anouced that the current crest (which includes the words cardiff City FC and an image of the Bluebird) will remain for next season at least
It seems that the message has been received by the club that fans would not be happy with a name change and also that the release of stupid rumours is unsettling.
While I don't like the crest, or the dragon on it, I do appreciate the move that should hopefully settle things down and allow the club to focus on promotion.
City posted a statement on the club's official website insisting the club's badge will not be altered after Tan held talks with the management team.
It read: "Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that the board has agreed to retain the existing club crest for the foreseeable future, without any modifications or changes.
"The board was advised by Tan Sri Vincent Tan on this confirmation, based on the guidance and recommendations of the Cardiff City management team.
"Tan Sri Vincent Tan would like to place on record his thanks to the management team on this matter.
"All at Cardiff City Football Club should now remain fully focused in supporting Malky Mackay and his squad for the remaining fixtures of the season.
"We call on all supporters to continue their incredible backing, both home and away. All support received is invaluable, appreciated and a vital factor towards our shared goals and aspirations going forward."
