McNaughton nearing City return

The 27-year-old full-back, yet to feature for Dave Jones' side this season, came through 45 minutes with the reserves unscathed in a 2-0 defeat to Hereford. Naughton told the club's official website: "I'm feeling fine. The half I played was another step forward for me. The big thing is to get match practice because you can only get so much out of training. "This injury has been a nightmare. It's the longest I've ever been out. I've had a couple of hamstring injuries during my career, but the longest I've been out before this was eight weeks." McNaughton ruptured ankle ligaments in the Bluebirds' pre-season friendly against Celtic which marked the official opening of Cardiff City Stadium.
