Cardiff City striker Ross McCormack took the plaudits after helping the Bluebirds reach the FA Cup fourth round with a 2-0 home win over Championship rivals Reading.
The 22-year-old returned after nearly a month out of action to score one and set up the other for Joe Ledley, as last season's beaten finalists started another run in the competition.
City manager Dave Jones said: "Ross' contribution was absolutely superb and he scored another goal.
"He had been out for a long time and because Michael Chopra went back to Sunderland we had to play him.
"It's great credit to him to come through the full 90 minutes. I didn't want to play him for that long, but Jay Bothroyd had to come off."
