    McCormack eyes quick return

    04 Nov 2008 - 14:33:35

Cardiff City's leading scorer Ross McCormack is hoping to make a quickfire return to action, having suffered a hamstring injury in the weekend defeat by Wolves.

The 22-year-old had to replaced early on in the second half of the 2-1 reverse at Ninian Park, with his strike partner Jay Bothroyd suffering a more serious hamstring problem which could keep him out for six weeks.

However, 12-goal McCormack hopes to be in the fold as early as a week on Saturday.

He said: "At the very most, I think I'll only miss this Saturday's game against Queens Park Rangers. I don't plan on being out too long.

"I had to come off, because if I'd carried on I might have made things worse and been out for longer. I don't think I've pulled it or anything serious like that."
